6,988 to take exam in Jeju


Korea’s state exam for university entrance in 2017 will be held on November 17th.


6,988 people will be taking the College Scholastic Ability Test in Jeju. That includes 5,871 high school students and 1,019 high school graduates… as well as 98 applicants with high school equivalency diplomas.


Last year, 7,327 people took the test on the island, so there are 339 fewer doing so this year.


The provincial office of education will start inspecting all 14 testing locations ahead of exam day. Officials are also discussing delaying the start of the work day on November 17th to prevent traffic noise from interrupting the listening part of the exam.

2017학년도 대학입학 수학능력평가가 오는 17일 제주를 비롯해 전국에서 동시에 실시됩니다.


올해 수능 제주지역 응시생은 재학생 5천871명, 졸업생 천19명 검정고시 합격자 98명 등 모두 6천988명입니다.


이는 지난해 7천327명과 비교해 339명이 줄어든 겁니다.


제주도교육청은 수능이 치러지는 도내 14군데 시험장에 대한 종합 점검을 시작으로 관공서와 금융기관 등과 협의해 출근 시간 조정 등을 협의해 나갈 방침입니다.
