Growth in car registrations slows
From 115 per day in April to 15 in October


The growth in the number of car registrations in Jeju has started to slow.


In April alone, 3,400 new cars were registered in Jeju, an all-time monthly record. By August, the monthly count had fallen to 1,400, and then 900 in September, and only 477 in October.


Put another way, the average number of daily new car registrations dropped from 115 in April to just 15 last month.


Analysts attribute the slowdown in registrations to Jeju’s implementation of a policy requiring motorists to have a specific parking space and the charging of fees at public parking lots.


자동차 증가세 둔화…등록대수 급감


급증하던 자동차 등록대수가 감소세를 보이고 있습니다.


제주특별자치도에 따르면 지난 4월 한달간 등록대수가 3천 400여대로 최고점을 찍은 후 8월 1천 400여대, 9월 900대, 지난달 477대로 줄고 있습니다.


하루 평균 증가대수 역시 지난 4월 매일 115대가 늘었지만 지난달은 15대로 크게 감소했습니다.


제주도는 차고지증명제 확대 시행과 공영주차장 유료 시행 등에 따른 것으로 분석했습니다.
