Hamo-ri residents protest delay in development project
Little activity in five years


Residents of Hamo-ri, Daejeong-eup have protested Jeju’s delay in developing the fishing village as promised four years ago.


A development permit was granted in 2012 but for the fifth year, little progress has been made.


Some 50 villagers visited the provincial government Wednesday and called for the swift resumption of the project, saying it was being bogged down by administrative matters.


Vice governor of local affairs Kim Bang-hoon assured them that the administrative process was progressing. He also promised to visit the site before the end of the month to discuss the issue in person.


'모슬포 남항 사업 표류' 지역주민 도청 항의 방문


지난 2012년 어항 개발사업 시행허가를 받은 이후 5년째 표류하고 있는 모슬포 남항 개발사업과 관련해 대정읍 하모리 주민들이 사업의 조속한 추진을 요구하며 제주도청을 항의방문했습니다.


서귀포시 대정읍 하모리 3개 리장 등 주민 50여 명은 오늘(9일) 제주도청을 찾아 제주도의 행정절차 혼선 때문에 사업이 난항을 겪고 있다며 조속한 추진을 촉구했습니다.


이에 대해 김방훈 정무부지사는 해당 개발사업에 대한 행정처리 과정을 설명하며 이달 안에 현장을 찾아 다시 주민들과 대화할 것을 약속했습니다.
