Solar-powered EV charging station opens
Facility at Jeju Sports Complex can charge 5 vehicles at a time


A solar-powered electric vehicle charging station is now available for use at the Jeju Sports Complex.


The Jeju branch of the Korea Electric Power Corporation and the Jeju Energy Corporation held an opening ceremony for the facility Friday.


The 2,700-square-meter station is powered by a 490-kilowatt solar photovoltaic system. It can accommodate up to five vehicles at a time.


KEPCO hopes to set up another 61 solar stations at public facilities across Jeju by the end of this year.


태양광 융합형 전기차 충전소 개소


제주종합경기장에 태양광 발전설비와 융합된 전기차 충전시설이 갖춰졌습니다.


한국전력공사 제주지역본부와 제주에너지공사는 오늘 오전 종합경기장 보조경기장 공공부지에서
태양광융합형 전기차 충전소 개소식을 열었습니다.


이번에 설치된 충전소는 2천7백 제곱미터 부지에 490kw의 태양광 발전 설비를 갖췄으며 전기차 5대를 동시에 충전할 수 있는 규모로 지어졌습니다.


한전은 올 연말까지 도내 공공부지와 관광지 등에 개방형 전기차 충전소 61개소를 추가 설치할 예정입니다.
