2 Chinese sentenced to 8 months for credit card fraud
Sentences already handed down for related crimes


Jeju District Court has sentenced two Chinese men to eight months behind bars each for credit card fraud.


The two 28-year-olds, surnamed Shi and Bak, were found guilty of making multiple illegal cash-back transactions using fake credit cards in October 2015.


The court said that the sentence reflects the nature and severity of the crime, which was planned and executed internationally.


The two had already been sentenced for forging credit cards between July and October of last year and pocketing 230 million won through the scam.

제주지방법원 형사2단독 김현희 판사는 지난해 10월 신용카드를 위조해 이른바 까드깡 수법으로
수천만원을 편취한 혐의로 기소된 중국인인 28살 쉬 모피고인과 박 모피고인에게 각각 징역 8월을 선고했습니다.


법원은 피고인들의 범행이 계획적이고 국제적으로 이뤄진 점에 비춰 죄질이 좋지 않다고 양형이유를 설명했습니다.


이들은 또 지난해 7월부터 10월까지 위조한 신용카드로 2억3천여 만원을 결제해 부당이득을 챙긴 혐의로 이미 기소돼 실형 선고를 받았습니다.
