Police have new foreign affairs department
Director to be nominated next month


The Jeju Provincial Police Agency is forming a foreign affairs department.


The current 17 people assigned to dealing with international affairs will be boosted to 21 people in the new official department, which begins work this week.


The department will have three sections: one for planning, one dedicated to intelligence, and one for the investigation of international crimes.


The chief of security will lead the department until early next month when a new director is nominated.


제주경찰에 외사과 신설…수사 인력 21명


제주지방경찰청에 외사과가 신설됩니다.


제주지방경찰청은 현재 17명이던 외사계 인원에 4명을 충원해 21명 규모로 외사과를 신설하고 다음주부터 운영에 들어갈 예정입니다.


외사과는 외사 기획계와 외사정보계, 국제범죄수사대팀으로 운영됩니다.


외사과장은 당분간 보안과장이 겸직하되 다음달 초에 총경급 인사에서 발령될 예정입니다.
