Designated days for waste disposal from December
Disposal of trash, recyclables to be limited to 6 PM to 12 AM


Jeju City and Seogwipo will begin in December using designated days for waste disposal.


Both cities recently signed an agreement to adjust the initial plan for designated trash days and test the system starting next month.


According to the new plan, residents will be allowed to throw away regular trash in official white trash bags as well as food waste every day, instead of every other day as originally planned. The disposal of recyclables, such as bottles and cans, will be limited to one specific day a week.


The daily hours of disposal for trash and recyclables will be limited from 6 p.m. to midnight. The new system will be tested until next June.


내달부터 쓰레기 요일별 배출제 시행


다음달부터 생활쓰레기 요일별 배출제가 제주시는 물론 서귀포시에서도 동시에 실시됩니다.


제주시는 최근 서귀포시와의 협의를 통해 당초 계획했던 요일별 배출안 일부를 조정해 시행하기로 했습니다.


특히 가연성과 음식물쓰레기는 당초 격일제에서 매일 배출하기로 조정했습니다. 다만 병이나 캔, 고철류 등 재활용 쓰레기는 예정대로 주 1회 배출을 유지하기로 했습니다.


제주시는 요일별 배출제를 다음달부터 내년 6월까지 시범 실시하고 배출시간도 오후 6시부터 자정까지 제한할 계획입니다.
