Jeju plans to revoke 5 investment promotion zone designations
Companies involved would no longer receive waivers for taxes, other fees


The provincial government plans to revoke the investment promotion zone designations of five areas because they fail to meet required standards.


The five include a tourism complex, a park, and a resort. After receiving designations as investment promotion zones, officials determined that they actually failed to meet the requirements.


In order to revoke the status, the province will first listen to the opinions of the businesses involved and then hold a hearing on the matter.


If they lose the designation, the companies will be required to pay for local taxes and other fees that were previously waived.


부실 투자진흥지구 5곳 지정 해제 추진


제주도가 부실 투자진흥지구 5 곳에 대해 지구지정 해제 절차에 들어갔습니다.


대상은 투자진흥지구로 지정됐지만 지정 요건을 충족하지 못해 이미 두차례에 걸쳐 회복명령을 받았음에도 이행하지 않은 모 관광단지와 유원지, 리조트 등 5 군데입니다.


이에따라 제주도는 지구 지정 해제를 위한 사업자 의견 청취와 청문절차에 들어갈 예정입니다.


투자진흥지구 지정이 해제되면 그동안 감면받은 지방세와 각종 개발부담금을 납부해야 합니다.
