Police to crack down on drunk driving
4,500 DWIs so far in 2016


As 2016 winds down, and people gather to celebrate the end of this year and the beginning of next, police will be out in force looking for drunk drivers.


After publicizing drunk driving prevention campaigns this month, the Jeju Provincial Police Agency will run a special crackdown from December 1st until the end of January.


Officers will be setting up checkpoints in popular drinking areas in the evenings, and they will be changing their location every half hour.


So far this year, 4,497 people have been caught for driving while intoxicated.


경찰, 연말연시 음주운전 특별단속 실시


연말연시를 맞아 음주운전 특별단속이 이뤄집니다.


제주지방경찰청은 이달 말까지 음주운전 예방 홍보 활동을 벌이고 다음달부터 내년 1월 말까지 특별단속에 들어갑니다.


이에 따라 저녁시간대 유흥가 주변을 대상으로 집중 순찰에 나서는 한편 30분 단위로
장소를 옮기며 단속을 강화합니다.


올 들어서 음주운전에 적발된 운전자는 4천 497명에 이르고 있습니다.
