Food waste disposal limited to certain hours
Disposal machines will be operational 6 PM to midnight beginning Thursday


Beginning on Thursday, anyone living in Jeju City ‘dong’ districts will only be able to use food waste disposal machines between 6 p.m. and midnight.


This new rule follows an announcement that the disposal of recyclables has been limited to specific days during the week.


All food waste machines will be remotely programmed so that they cannot be operated at other hours of the day.


Currently some 2,500 food waste disposal machines are set up in ‘dong’ districts at some 930 collection stations known as “clean houses,” and 200 apartment complexes.

다음달 1일부터 제주시 동지역에 설치된 음식물쓰레기 개별계량장비를 이용할 수 있는 시간이
저녁 6시부터 밤 12시까지로 제한됩니다.


제주시는 쓰레기 요일별 배출제 시범시행과 관련해 음식물 쓰레기 배출시간도 저녁 6시부터 밤 12시까지로 조정한다고 밝혔습니다.


이에따라 음식물쓰레기 개별계량장비 전체를 원격으로 제어해 이 시간 외에는 사용할 수 없도록 조치합니다.


제주시 동지역에는 공동주택 200여 곳과 클린하우스 930여 곳에 음식물개별계량장비 2천500여 대가 설치돼 있습니다.
