Officials advise against visiting poultry farms, migratory bird habitats


Jeju officials are advising everyone to take extra care to prevent an avian influenza outbreak spreading across the nation from infecting humans.


Jeju residents are advised to avoid visiting poultry farms and habitats for migratory birds. Officials are also asking them to take special care with personal hygiene, including taking at least 30 seconds to wash their hands.


Anyone who has has had contact with poultry... and within ten days… develops symptoms including a fever of over 38 degrees, coughing, and trouble breathing must alert the Jeju Health Center.


The province is currently providing free vaccinations to people who work in the poultry industry.

전국적으로 조류인플루엔자 바이러스가 확산되는 가운데 인체감염을 예방하기 위한 각별한 주의가 요구됩니다.


제주특별자치도는 축산농가와 철새도래지 방문을 자제하고 30초 이상 손씻기 등 개인위생관리를 철저히 해 달라고 강조하고 있습니다.


만약 야생조류와 접촉한후 열흘 이내에 38도 이상의 발열과 기침, 호흡곤란 증상이 나타나면 보건소로 신고해 줄 것을 당부했습니다.


제주도는 이 밖에도 AI 바이러스 고위험군 대상인 가금류 사육 농가 종사자와 방역 요원을 대상으로
계절인플루엔자 백신 무료 접종을 실시하고 있습니다.
