New road to honor massacre victims in Bukchon
Hundreds of villagers slaughtered during April Third Incident


In somewhat related news, a historic road will be created in memory of the hundreds of villagers massacred during the April 3rd Incident in the village of Bukchon, which is in Jocheon-eup, Jeju City.


A ceremony will be held December 10th to mark the opening of the 4.3 Road.


It will extend for six kilometers, from the Bukchon (너븐숭이) Neobeun-soongi April Third Memorial Hall, past the Seowoo-bong massacre site, to Bukchon Port.


It will become the third road built to honor victims of the April 3rd Incident. The others are the Donggwang Village Road in Andeok-myeon and the (의귀) Euigwi Village Road in Namwon-eup.

제주4.3당시 주민 수백명이 학살당한 제주시 조천읍 북촌리마을에 역사 탐방로인 4.3길이 조성됩니다.


제주도는 다음달 10일 제주시 조천읍 북촌리에서 북촌마을 4.3길 개통행사를 개최합니다.


이번에 개통할 4.3길은 북촌너븐숭이 4.3기념관에서 서우봉 학살터, 북촌포구 등으로 이어지며 총 길이는 6km에 이릅니다.


북촌마을 4.3길은 안덕면 동광마을길과 남원읍 의귀마을길에 이어 세 번째입니다.
