Strong support for creation of Jeju National Park
Jeju Development Institute surveyed 310 area residents in September


Nearly nine of ten respondents to a recent survey backed the creation of a Jeju National Park.


Officials at the Jeju Development Institute surveyed 310 residents over the age of 20 for four days beginning September 17th. 87.4 percent of the respondents agreed with the idea.


47.3 percent said doing so would be positive from a branding standpoint, 22.9 percent supported it because they thought it would lead to sustainable development, and 10.3 percent of those in favor said it would improve islanders’ quality of life.


Based on the overwhelming support for the idea, the JDI suggests creating a Jeju National Park that includes Hallasan Mountain, mid-slope and coastal regions, and local waters.


"도민 10명 중 8명 이상 제주국립공원 찬성"


제주국립공원 지정에 대해 제주도민 10명 가운데 8명 이상이 찬성하는 것으로 조사됐습니다.


제주발전연구원이 지난 9월 17일부터 나흘간 20살 이상의 도민 310명을 대상으로 제주국립공원 지정에 대한 설문조사결과 응답자의 87.4%가 지정에 찬성한다고 응답했습니다.


찬성이유로는 브랜드 가치 제고 47.3%로 가장 높고 지속가능 발전 22.9%, 도민의 삶의 질 향상 10.3% 순으로 나타났습니다.


제주발전연구원은 국립공원 지정에 대한 찬성 의견이 높게 나타났다며 한라산과 중산간, 해안지역, 해양을 연결하는 방안을 적극 추진할 것을 제안했습니다.
