Workshop on agricultural meteorology
100 attendees discussing issues in Seogwipo through Friday

Scientists and researchers are meeting at Seogwipo’s Mystay Hotel through this Friday to discuss the World Meteorological Organization’s agrometeorology and global information systems.

Around 100 meteorologists from around the world are attending, as are researchers and representatives from related organizations in Korea. They are discussing topics that include the results of using an AgroMeteorological Information System combined with geographical features and plans to improve the global agrometeorological information system.

On Tuesday, the third day of the workshop, Seoul National University Professor (류영렬 Ryu Young-ryel chaired a discussion on tailored agriculture management technology that makes use of meteorology.

최신 농업 기상기술의 활용 확산을 위한 '세계기상기구 국제연수회'가 오는 9일까지
서귀포시 마이스테이 호텔에서 열리고 있습니다.


이번 국제연수회에서는 전세계 기상 과학자를 비롯해 국내 연구진과 관련 기관 관계자 등 100여 명이 참석해 지리정보를 활용한 기상정보 효과 발표와 세계 농업기상정보시스템의 개선 방안 등을 논의하게 됩니다.


연수회 사흘째인 오늘(6일)도 기상을 활용한 사용자 맞춤형 농업 관리 기술을 주제로 서울대 류영렬 교수가 좌장을 맡아 토론이 진행됐습니다.


이번 국제연수회의 내용과 토론결과는 세계기상기구 누리집을 통해 게시될 예정입니다.
