‘No changes in use of Jeju Massim symbol’
Province backtracks on plan to replace it with ‘JQ’ quality mark


There will be no changes in the use of the Jeju Massim symbol, which is used as a quality certification mark.


The provincial government provoked a backlash from companies that use Jeju Massim when it recently announced a plan to standardize quality certification under the competing JQ mark.


It has now notified the Jeju Massim Corporation, companies that use the mark, and the Jeju Business Agency that no changes will be made in how the Jeju Massim symbol is used.


Analysts say this decision puts an end to the conflict on the matter.


The province does plan to push ahead with the JQ mark, but in a way that’s separate from Jeju Massim.

제주특별자치도는 최근 사단법인 제주마씸과 참여기업, 제주도경제통상진흥원 등에
제주마씸을 현행과 같이 관리운영 매뉴얼에 따라 운영한다는 내용의 공문을 발송했습니다.


이에따라 'JQ 인증' 도입으로 논란을 빚었던 제주마씸 문제는 일단락될 전망입니다.


제주도는 현재처럼 제주마씸 인증제도를 추진하게 되며 JQ 인증의 경우
제주마씸과 별개로 추진해 나갈 예정이라고 밝혔습니다
