New waste disposal system in Seogwipo
Designated days for recyclables beginning in January


The city of Seogwipo will follow Jeju City’s lead in implementing a new waste disposal system.


Beginning in January, residents will have designated days on which to dispose of recyclables in the collection stations called “Clean Houses.”


They will also only be able to throw out regular trash and recyclables between 3 p.m. and 4 a.m. There will be no time restriction on the disposal of food waste.


Seoqwipo Mayor Lee Joong-hwan is asking for full cooperation from citizens in the implementation of the new system, which will be run on a trial basis for six months before full implementation in July.




서귀포도 내년 쓰레기 요일별 배출제 시행


제주시에 이어 서귀포시도 내년부터 생활쓰레기 요일별 배출제를 시범 운영합니다.


이에따라 내년 1월부터 재활용품은 요일마다 정해진 날짜에 클린하우스로 배출해야 합니다.


배출 시간도 재활용품과 불에 타는 일반 쓰레기는 오후 3시부터 다음날 새벽 4시까지로 제한됩니다.


다만 음식물 쓰레기는 매일 시간에 제한 없이 버릴 수 있습니다.


이중환 서귀포시장은 내년 1월부터 6개월 동안 시범적으로 실시한 뒤 7월부터 본격 시행하겠다며 시민들의 동참을 부탁했습니다.
