Booyoung denied construction permit for hotel in Jungmun
Provincial officials highlight 4 problems with environmental impact

The provincial government has denied an application by the Booyoung Corporation to build a hotel in the Jungmun Tourism Complex.

Officials say the company had failed to properly follow four recommendations made after the environmental impact assessment for the project, and that modifications had to made to the construction blueprint.

Authorities say they would again consider issuing a construction permit if the company updates its plan in line with the environmental assessment.

In its latest look at the project, the provincial audit committee in October called on the company to take steps to reduce how the hotel would affect the environment.

제주도가 중문관광단지 부영호텔 건축허가 신청을 반려했습니다.


제주도는 주식회사 부영의 부영호텔 4건에 대한 건축허가건에 대해 환경영향평가 협의내용 이행과 건축도면 수정이 불가피하다고 보고 이같은 결정을 내렸다고 밝혔습니다.


다만 환경영향평가 협의내용 변경 결과가 반영된 설계도서를 토대로 다시 건축허가 신청이 들어오면 재검토하겠다고 덧붙혔습니다.


한편 감사위원회는 지난 10월 부영호텔의 인허가와 관련한 감사에서 환경저감방안을 반영하지 않아 환경영향평가법을 위반했다며 관련절차를 조속히 이행하도록 요구한 바 있습니다.
