Jeju City upgrades bird flu prevention efforts
Fumigation among new strategies

The national government has raised its threat level to the highest possible as avian influenza continues to spread across the country, and now Jeju City officials are kicking local prevention efforts into high gear.

City officials convened an emergency meeting Monday morning. They called on all relevant organizations and groups to work harder to prevent a local outbreak.

They also decided to fumigate problem areas and begin restricting the movement of people.

The city on December 16th upgraded its Bird Flu Countermeasures Center to a Disaster Countermeasures Center in order to more effectively respond to the threat.

이에따라 오늘(19일) 오전 긴급 방역대책회의를 열고 각 기관.단체에 AI 방역에 대한 경각심을 유지하고 역할을 충실히 해 줄것을 요청했습니다.

이와함께 오늘부터 확산 방지를 위한 거점소독과 이동통제초소를 상황이 종료될 때까지 운영하기로 했습니다.

제주시는 지난 16일부로 AI 방역대책본부를 재난안전대책본부로 전환하여 방역대책을 추진하고 있습니다.
