Parking proof requirement goes island-wide July 2018
All car owners will have to show proof they have a space

Beginning in July 2018, all car owners on the island will have to prove they have a parking space for their vehicle.

Currently, only residents of eastern Jeju City are required to show such proof. The provincial government had planned on expanding that to include the whole island at the beginning of the year 2022, but it has now decided to do so three and a half years earlier.

In order to make sure enough spaces are available, officials are easing regulations to allow car owners to claim a space anywhere within one kilometer of their residence. The current standard is 500 meters. It also plans to set aside 30 percent of spaces in public lots for use as parking proof.

Finally, the province will boost its assistance rate for creating one’s own parking space from 50 percent to 90 percent, and it will cap the support at five million won, rather than the current four million.

차고지증명제 2018년 7월부터 전 지역 확대

차고지증명제가 오는 2018년 7월부터 제주 전역으로 확대 시행됩니다.

제주특별자치도는 현재 제주시 동지역에서만 실시하고 있는 차고지증명제를 당초 계획보다 3년 6개월 빠른 2018년 7월부터 제주도 전역으로 확대한다고 밝혔습니다.

용이한 차고지 확보를 위해 차고지 확보 거리 제한 규정을 현재 주소지 반경 5백 미터에서 1km 까지 완화하고 공영주차장의 30%를 차고지로 활용할 계획입니다.

또 자기차고지갖기사업 보조율도 50%에서 90%로 늘리고 보조금 상한선도 4백만 원에서 5백만 원으로 확대 지원합니다.
