Thousands of more housing units to open
Officials hope greater supply will stabilize prices

Authorities are working to boost the housing supply on the island in order to stabilize prices.

Provincial representatives say that some 2,000 housing units will have been made available by the end of the year. Another 4,300 will be ready by the end of 2019, including national public housing units in Gangjeong, so-called “Happy Housing” units, and private-sector units.

In addition, authorities will announce decisions in January for at least two of the 13 housing sites under consideration for urbanization in Jeju City and Seogwipo.

The province also plans to further restrict real estate speculation. It will extend the required duration of holding a special bank account used to make housing purchases from six to 12 months, and it will lengthen the requirement for residing in Jeju to at least one year.

이와함께 제주시와 서귀포시 시가화예정지 13개소를 대상으로 진행되고 있는 택지개발 후보지 용역 결과에 따라 최소 2 두 곳을 확정해 내년 1월 발표할 예정입니다.

제주도는 청약통장가입 기간을 6개월에서 1년으로 늘리고 제주지역 거주기간 요건도 최소 1년 이상으로 강화해 투기를 억제할 방침입니다.
