Seongsan Sunrise Festival starts Friday
Discounts at participating accommodations, restaurants, cafes

Visitors will be able to look back on 2016 and forward to 2017 at the 24th Seongsan Sunrise Festival, which begins Friday and runs through Sunday.

Participants can enjoy a wide range of programs. They include visits to local sites famous for their beauty, the flying of sky lanterns, haenyeo performances, and a night market.

Some accommodations, restaurants and cafes in Seongsan-eup are offering discounts as a way to encourage more tourists to come.

성산일출축제 30일 개막…해맞이 행사 풍성

한해를 마무리하고 새해를 맞이하는 성산일출축제가 오는 30일 성산일출봉 일원에서 개막합니다.

올해로 24회째를 맞는 일출제는 '찬란한 성산의 아침, 나를 비추다'를 주제로 내년 1월 1일까지 사흘 동안 열립니다.

특히 이번 축제는 전야제 위주의 행사에서 벗어나 성산10경 마을탐방과 풍등 날리기, 해녀물질공연, 풍물야시장 등 다양한 프로그램을 구성했습니다.

축제 기간에 성산읍 내 일부 숙박업소와 음식점, 카페 등에서는 20% 할인행사를 운영해 관광객 참여를 유도하기로 했습니다.
