Many more international flights at Jeju airport
Most growth on Chinese routes

The Jeju airport is handling a lot more international flights.

The Korea Airports Corporation says the facility had handled this year nearly 18,000 international flights, either coming or going, through the end of last month. That’s 37.3 percent more than during the corresponding period of last year.

87.6 percent of them, or around 15,600, were flights either to or from China. There were 4,400 more on those routes this year compared to last.

Over the same period, there were also about 200 more flights connecting with Japanese cities.

제주공항 국제선 운항이 크게 증가했습니다.

한국공항공사에 따르면 올들어 지난달까지 제주를 오간 국제선 여객기는 1만 7천790여 건으로 지난해보다 37.3% 증가했습니다.

이 가운데 중국 노선은 지난해 보다 4천400여 편 증가한 1만5천593건으로 전체 국제여객선의 87.6%를 차지하고 있습니다.

같은 기간 일본노선은 200여 편 증가했습니다.
