Labor force participation rate: 69%
Monthly income rises for most households 2014-2016

Nearly seven out of ten islanders are involved in economic activity.

The provincial government surveyed all of the people aged 15 and above in 3,000 local households last September. Researchers determined that the labor force participation rate on the island is 69.2 percent, which is 6.6 percentage points higher than the national average.
A plurality of households, at 23.7 percent, earn between 2 and 3 million won each month. Another 21.5 percent make between 3 and 4 million won.

The proportion of households with monthly income under 2 million won went down from 24.2 percent in 2014 to 16.6 percent in 2016. During the same period, the ratio of those making between 2 and 3 million won went up from 22 percent to 23.7 percent. Finally, in 2014, 13.8 percent of households were making between 3 and 4 million won per month, but last year that figure was 21.5 percent.

제주도민 10명 가운데 7명은 경제활동에 참여하는 것으로 조사됐습니다.

제주특별자치도가 지난 9월부터 한달간 도내 3천가구의 가구주와 15살 이상의 가구원을 대상으로 사회조사를 실시한 결과 지난해 경제활동참가율은 69.2%로
전국 대비 6.6% 포인트 높은 것으로 나타났습니다.

이번 조사에서 월평균 가구소득은 200만원에서 300만원 미만이 23.7%로 가장 많고 300만원에서 400만원은 21.5%로 조사됐습니다.

특히 200만원 미만의 가구는 2014년 24.2%에서 지난해 16.6%로 줄어든 반면
200만원에서 300만원까지는 22%에서 23.7%, 300만원에서 400만원까지는 13.8%에서 21.5%로 증가했습니다.
