Bird flu prevention efforts kick into high gear
Hunting grounds closed, more fumigation

The provincial government is rolling out tougher measures designed to prevent a local outbreak of bird flu.

A highly pathogenic strain of the bird flu virus was recently discovered on the island. Local officials have expanded fumigation efforts to include 15 migratory bird habitats. It had been done at just four. The work is now also being done daily. It was being done three to four times a week.

In addition, hunting grounds are now closed. They were to remain open until next month.

철새 도래지 방역 확대…수렵장 폐쇄

철새도래지 야생조류에 대한 예찰이 강화되고 수렵장도 전면 폐쇄됩니다.

제주도는 고병원성 AI 바이러스가 검출되면서 방역 대상 도래지를 기존 4곳에서 15군데로 확대했습니다.

또 주 3,4 회 실시하던 방역을 매일 실시하기로 했습니다.

이와 함께 다음달까지 운영될 예정이던 수렵장도 AI 추가 발생 우려에 따라 내일 0시부터 전면 폐쇄합니다.
