Chinese spend twice as much as domestic tourists
Average Chinese visitor makes \1.3m in credit card purchases

Chinese tourists spend more than twice as much as domestic visitors while here.

The provincial government analyzed credit card data over a two-year period beginning in September 2014. It found that each Chinese vacationer spent an average of 1.3 million won here. Domestic visitors spent about 600,000.

Over that period, Chinese tourists made most of their purchases at duty-free shops and in Jeju City’s Yeon-dong and Nohyeong-dong neighborhoods.

中관광객, 내국인보다 2배 이상 소비

제주를 찾은 중국인 관광객이 내국인보다 2배 넘게 소비하는 것으로 조사됐습니다.

제주도가 2014년 9월부터 2년 동안 내국인과 중국인의 신용카드 결제자료를 분석한 결과 중국인 개별관광객 1명당 소비 금액은 132만 7천 원으로 집계됐습니다.

이 같은 금액은 내국인 개별관광객 1명이 소비한 59만 6천 원보다 2배 넘게 많은 것입니다.

중국인 관광객이 가장 많이 소비한 업종은 면세점으로 조사됐으며 지역은 제주시 연동과 노형동으로 나타났습니다.
