Meat supplies boosted in lead-up to holidays
Compared to normal, twice as many cattle being slaughtered
Provincial officials have enacted plans to ensure meat supplies meet demand as the Lunar New Year holidays approach.
The province has upped the daily slaughter count through January 25th to 45 heads of cattle and 3,800 pigs.
That’s double the average count for cattle and 10 percent more than average for pigs.
In addition, the island’s slaughterhouse will remain open on the 14th and the 21st. It’s usually closed on Saturdays.

설 명절을 앞두고 쇠고기와 돼지고기 공급량이 확대됩니다.
제주특별자치도는 오는 25일까지 소 하루 45두, 돼지는 3천 800두를 도축해 공급합니다.
이같은 도축물량은 소는 평소 갑절 가까이, 돼지는 10% 증가한 것입니다.
특히 물량 공급에 차질이 없도록 휴일인 오는 14일과 21일에도 도축을 실시할 계획입니다.
