College students unveil new souvenir ideas
Between snow-covered trees, imaginative animal figures stand.
They are 3D printed animals that are normally seen in the island’s (곶자왈) Gotjawal Forest.
This is a traditional single chest of drawers.
These aprons and bags are inspired by traditional patterns of the single chest of drawers.

Kim Eun-ji / Student, Jeju National University

"제주 유물중에서 제주의 문화콘텐츠가 될만한 게 굉장히 많은데 제주도 유물 중 이층장이라는 유물에서 수납공간의 손잡이와 경첩부분을 따와서 주머니를 표현하게 됐습니다."
These works, Jeju’s latest souvenirs to hit the market, range from accessories made of basalt stone to characters inspired by the island’s myths, and were created by local college students.
About 60 students from Jeju National University, Cheju Halla University and Jeju Tourism College participated in creating some 160 Jeju souvenir items.
