Housing sales tumble 6.5% in 2016
28% more rental contracts signed

Housing sales tumbled last year, while the number of rental contracts signed skyrocketed.

According to Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, buyers purchased 12,390 housing units in Jeju in 2016. That’s 6.5 percent fewer than the year before.

The number of monthly rental and yearly jeonse lease contracts rose to 6,750. That’s a whopping 28 percent more than in 2015, and the highest growth in the country.

지난해 주택 매매는 감소한 반면 전월세 거래는 크게 증가했습니다.

국토교통부에 따르면 지난해 제주지역 주택 매매거래량은 1만 2천390여 건으로
2015년보다 6.5% 감소했습니다.

반면 전월세 거래는 1년 전보다 28% 증가한 6천 750여 건으로 전국에서 가장 높은 증가율을 보이고 있습니다.
