Construction sector still on fire
12% annual growth in work orders

The local construction industry continues to grow, with growth centered on public sector projects.

According to the Jeju bureau of the Construction Association of Korea, its 280 member firms received 620 work orders last year. The value of those orders was one trillion 264 billion won, 12 percent more than the corresponding figure from the year before.

The value of orders for public sector work jumped 43 percent due to contracts for national disaster prevention projects and public parking garages.

The value of private sector orders held steady over the year at 796 billion won.

제주 경기 호조세…전년 대비 12% 증가

공공부문을 중심으로 제주지역 건설경기가 호조세를 이어가고 있습니다.

대한건설협회 제주도회에 따르면 제주도내 280여 개 건설업체가 지난해 신규 수주한 공사는 620여 건에 1조 2천640억 원으로 2015년 수주액보다 12% 증가했습니다.

공공부문은 재해예방사업과 공영주차장 복층화사업 등으로 43% 증가한 반면
민간부문 수주액은 7천960억 원으로 전년과 보합세를 보였습니다.
