Police outline strategies to keep roads safe over holidays
Sobriety checkpoints, illegal parking crackdown

Provincial police will be out in force over the holidays to keep the roads safe in general and, in particular, make sure nobody is driving under the influence.

They will be setting up random sobriety checkpoints throughout the day and night on Lunar New Year’s Day, which is Saturday.

Officers will also be focusing on illegal parking, especially around large retailers, traditional markets, and (양지) Yangji Park, where traffic tends to be more of a problem.

제주지방경찰청은 설 명절 음주운전과 교통사고 근절을 위한 특별 교통관리에 들어갑니다.

이에따라 설 당일 음복 음주운전 등을 예방하기 위한 주·야간 스팟 이동식 단속을 벌입니다.

또 연휴기간에 도내 대형마트와 전통시장, 양지공원 등 차량정체가 우려되는 곳에 대해서는 주정차 위반 교통관리에 나섭니다.
