Food labeling violations discovered
10 charges laid in holiday crackdown by police

Illegal activities related to food labeling are common in the lead up to the holiday season.
In a crackdown last month focusing on golf courses, hotel restaurants, and tourist restaurants, provincial police identified 15 establishments that had mislabelled the country of the origin or sold products after their expiry date.
There were 8 cases of false labeling in which Norwegian mackerel was identified as local, 5 cases where the country of origin was not marked, and 1 case of a modified expiry date.
The police charged 10 establishments with criminal offences.

관광객 전문 식당 등에 대한 특별단속을 벌여
원산지를 허위표시하거나
유통기한을 넘긴 식자재를 판매한 업소 15곳을 적발했습니다.

주요 적발사례를 보면
노르웨이산 고등으로 제주산으로 둔갑하는 등
원산지 허위표시 8건,
원산지 미표시 5건, 유통기한 경과 1건 등 입니다.

자치경찰단은 원산지를 허위표시한 골프장과 호텔 음식점 등
업체 10곳에 대해서는 관계자를 형사 입건했습니다.
