Community Chest charity drive sets record
Over \4.3b in donations

The Jeju office of the Community Chest of Korea set a new record in its annual charity drive.

Representatives from the office and the provincial government gathered Wednesday for a ceremony to mark the end of this year’s fundraising initiative. They thanked everyone who contributed and celebrated the new record.

Donors gave over 4.3 billion won this year, the most since the Community Chest held its first such drive in 1999.

Another record was broken this year, as well: the organization hit its donations target in only 65 days.

제주사회복지공동모금회를 통한 모금액이 목표치를 초과 달성하며 마무리됐습니다.

제주특별자치도와 제주사회복지공동모금회는 오늘(1일) 오전 제주도청 현관에서 폐막식을 갖고 모금에 참여한 도민들에게 감사의 뜻을 전하며 목표액 달성을 기념했습니다.

이번 희망 나눔 캠페인을 통해 모금된 금액은 43억 2천 897만 원으로 지난 1999년 희망캠페인을 시작한 이래 최다 모금액을 기록했습니다.

특히 캠페인 시작 65일만에 목표 모금액인 40억 원을 넘어서며 역대 최단기 목표 달성기록을 세우기도 했습니다.
