7% of Jeju City cars not inspected last year
Owners fined total of \790m

A lot of car owners are facing fines because they have not had their vehicle inspected.

The Jeju City municipal administration says that about 97-hundred vehicles that were scheduled for inspections last year didn’t get them. That’s about 7 percent of the nearly 140,000 vehicles registered in the city.

Each of those owners has been fined up to 300-thousand won. Altogether, they now owe the city some 790 million won.

자동차 정기검사를 받지 않아 과태료 처분되는 운전자들이
상당수에 이르는 것으로 나타났습니다.

제주시에 따르면
지난해 자동차 검사 대상차량 13만9천700여 대 가운데
7%인 9천700여 대가 정기검사를 받지 않았습니다.

이들 차량에 부과된 과태료만 7억9천만원에 이릅니다.

유효기간 내에 자동차 검사를 받지 않을 경우
최대 30만원까지 과태료가 부과됩니다.
