Renewable energy supply set to increase this year

The provincial government is expanding the local supply of renewable energy.

The nation’s first 30-megawatt offshore wind farm is scheduled for completion in September in Hangyeong-myeon.

Developers are working through the licensing process for another 565 megawatts in offshore wind power generation. Those projects are planned for five regions, including Daejeong, Hallim, and Woljeong.

A 67-megawatt solar power facility will also be built this year in a disused citrus orchard.

Last year, new and renewable energy accounted for 11.5 percent of the island’s power supply. Officials say these new developments will boost that rate to 14 percent this year.

해상풍력 중심 신재생에너지 생산 확대

제주도가 풍력과 태양광 발전 등을 통한 전력 생산규모를 확대합니다.

주요내용을 보면 오는 9월 한경면에 국내 최초로 30메가와트급의 해상풍력단지가 준공됩니다.

또 대정과 한림, 월정 등 5개 지구의 565메가와크급 해상풍력사업에 따른 인허가 절차를 진행합니다.

이와 함께 감귤폐원지를 활용한 67메가와트 규모의 태양발전 시설도 올해 내로 조성됩니다.

제주도는 풍력과 태양광 인프라 구축으로 신재생에너지를 통한 전력 보급률을
지난해 11.5%에서 올해 14%로 확대될 것으로 기대하고 있습니다.
