\3b in quake-resistance upgrades to public facilities
Work already complete on 46% of structures

The provincial government will spend billions of won this year on improved earthquake engineering in public facilities.

It has earmarked three billion won for assessing the earthquake resistance of 24 structures and making them more quake-proof. Among other locations, work will be done on the Jeju Sports Complex, the provincial office, and bridges.

530 of the roughly 11-hundred public facilities on the island have already received the quake-resistance upgrades. That’s about 46 percent of the total. Officials aim to complete work on 55 percent of the structures by the year 2020.

공공시설물 내진 보강 사업 추진

제주도내 공공시설물을 대상으로 내진 보강 사업이 추진됩니다.

제주특별자치도는 올해 사업비 30억여 원을 투입해 종합경기장 주경기장과 도청 1청사 별관, 그리고 하천교량 등 24 군데를 대상으로 보강 공사와 내진 성능평가를 실시할 계획입니다.

도내 공공시설물 1천 100 여 곳 가운데 내진보강이 완료된 시설물은 전체 46%인 530개소로 제주도는 지속적인 내진 보강 사업을 통해 2020년까지 내진확보율을 55%로 올릴 방침입니다.
