Province begins implementation of general casino plan
New requirements and regulations for businesses

The provincial government will begin this year rolling out its first general casino plan to set an official direction for the industry.

Officials based the five-year plan on research that was conducted last year as well as consultations with both experts in the field and a supervisory committee for the industry.

According to the plan, casinos must undergo eligibility screening every three years. They must also gain prior permission before any business transfers or major personnel changes. Finally, they must abide by CCTV installation and control regulations and adopt standardized accounting methods.
