Jeju City fines developer for illegal roadside banners

Jeju City has fined a developer hundreds of millions of won for putting up illegal roadside banners promoting its homes.

City officials removed some 890 illegal banners between January 18th and 31st.

They then fined the developer, Korea Real Estate Investment & Trust, 224 million won for the violations.

If the company fails to pay, the city will impose other penalties, which may include an order to cease work on the project as well as criminal charges.

불법 현수막 게시 업체 과태료 2억 부과

분양 현수막 800여 개를 도로변에 불법으로 게시한 업체가 수억원의 과태료를 물게됐습니다.

제주시는 지난달 18일부터 31일까지 불법 현수막 단속을 벌여 890여 장을 현장에서 철거했다고 밝혔습니다.

특히 이 현수막을 게시한 공동주택 시행사인 한국토지신탁에 2억2천400만원의 과태료를 부과했습니다.

제주시는 과태료를 체납할 경우 형사고발과 함께 건축물 준공처리를 불허하는 등 제재를 가할 예정입니다.
