Land market takes a hit last month
11% fewer transactions than in January 2016

Fewer people are buying and selling land on the island.

The provincial government says 6,321 plots were sold last month. They covered about 5.3 million square meters of land. Compared to January 2016, that’s 11 percent fewer plots and 30 percent less area.

It’s also 18 percent fewer plots and 52 percent less area than just the month before.

Local officials say this is the result of the foundation of an anti-real estate speculation office and the resulting crackdown on the practice.

제주 1월 토지거래 큰 폭 감소

제주도내 토지거래 면적이 감소세를 이어가고 있습니다.

제주특별자치도가 지난달 거래된 토지현황을 분석한 결과 거래 면적은 6천 321필지에 529만 1천 제곱미터로 지난해 같은 기간보다 필지는 11%, 면적은 30% 줄었습니다.

또 전달과 비교해도 필지는 18%, 면적은 52% 감소했습니다.

제주도는 부동산투기대책본부 설치 이후 지속적인 단속으로 투기성거래가 줄어들었기 때문으로 분석하고 있습니다.
