Official land prices rise at fastest rate in country
Seogwipo prices up 18.81%, Jeju City 18.54% in 2016

Official land prices in Jeju rose at the fastest pace in the nation for the second straight year in 2016.

Land ministry representative say appraised values grew an average of 18.66 percent across the island last year. The national average was just 4.94 percent.

Prices in Seogwipo grew by the most in the country, at 18.81 percent. Jeju City followed with growth of 18.54 percent.

The island’s most valuable land is near the Paris Baguette bakery at the entrance to Jewon Apartments in Yeon-dong. That area is officially priced at 5.7 million won per square meter.

Ministry analysts say large development projects, such as the island’s second airport and the Innocity in Seogwipo, are the reasons for the surge in land prices.

제주지역의 표준지 공시지가 상승률이 지난해에 이어 2년 연속 전국에서 가장 높게 나타난 가운데 제주에서 가장 비싼 땅은 연동 제원아파트 입구의 파리바게트 자리인 것으로 조사됐습니다.

국토교통부에 따르면, 올해 제주도의 표준공시지가 상승률은 18.66%로 전국 평균 4.94%를 크게 웃돌며 전국 17개 시.도 가운데 가장 높았습니다.

시.군.구별 표준공시지가 상승률도 서귀포시와 제주시가 각각 18.81%와 18.54를 기록하며 각각 상승률 1,2위에 올랐습니다.

또 이번 공시지가 발표와 관련해 제주에서 가장 비싼 땅은 제주시 연동 제원아파트 입구의 파리바게트 자리로 1제곱미터에 570만원으로 나타났습니다.

국토교통부는 제주지역의 경우 혁신도시 개발과 제2공항 등 호재가 많아 토지수요가 계속됐기 때문으로 분석하고 있습니다.
