Two Chinese arrested on fraud charges
Allegedly forged credit cards, then used them to make \11m in purchases

Provincial police have arrested two Chinese nationals for allegedly forging credit cards and then using the bogus cards to make purchases here.

Investigators say the 27-year-old surnamed Jang and 20-year-old surnamed Ru arrived in Jeju February 6th. They stayed at a Jeju City hotel where they allegedly counterfeited five credit cards. Police say they then made 11 million won in purchases of smartphones, notebook computers, and other electronics.

Police say they attempted to smuggle the items to China where they wanted to sell them.

제주지방경찰청은 지난 6일 제주에 들어와 제주시내 모 호텔에 머물며 신용카드 5장을 위조하고 전자제품 매장을 돌며 모두 7차례에 걸쳐 1천100만 원 상당의 노트북과 스마트 폰 등을 구입한 혐의로 중국인 27살 장 모씨와 20살 류 모씨를 구속했습니다.

특히 이들은 구입한 전자제품을 다시 중국으로 빼돌려 되팔려 했던 것으로 경찰조사결과 드러났습니다.
