Visitors from 15 sister cities expected at Jeju Fire Festival

Arguably the island’s premier festivity, the Jeju Fire Festival, begins March second, and many people from Jeju’s sister cities across the country and the world will attend.

Jeju City expects some 150 delegates and performers from 15 sister cities in 5 countries.

A U.S. dance team from Santa Rosa, California and traditional dancers from Guilin, China are among the scheduled performers.

Jeju City is providing interpreters to the overseas guests to help them get the most out of the event.

제주들불축제 15개 국내외 교류도시 방문

다음달 2일 개막하는 제주들불축제에 국제 교류도시들이 대거 참가합니다.

제주시에 따르면 이번 들불축제 기간에는 제주시와 교류를 맺고 있는 5개국 15개 도시에서 150여 명이 축하사절단과 공연단으로 방문합니다.

특히 미국 샌타로사시에서는 댄스 공연팀을, 중국 계림시에서는 전통 무용팀을 파견해 볼거리를 제공할 예정입니다.

제주시는 축하 방문단에 외국어 담당을 전담 배치하는 등 축제 프로그램 참여를 적극 유도하기로 했습니다.
