Jeju Fire Festival kicks off March 2
Festival will offer fireworks, a variety of performances

The 22nd annual Jeju Fire Festival opens up to the island March 2nd.

The festival will begin with the kindling of a bush fire as part of an opening ceremony at Samsunghyeol. This flame will then be transported to light a cauldron at the provincial office, to be followed by a concert from pop singer (허각) Heo Gak.

The festival, whose theme is ‘The Hopeful Rejuvenation of Fire Spreads Throughout the World,’ will be held through March 5th in Bongseong-ri, Aewol-eup, Jeju City.



제주들불축제 이번주 개막…2일, 서막 행사


올해로 스무돌을 맞는 제주들불축제가
다음달 2일 개막해 나흘동안 제주시 일원에서 열립니다.

우선 축제의 시작을 알리는 서막 행사는
삼성혈에서
들불불씨 생성 제례를 시작으로
제주시청까지 봉송행사로 진행됩니다.

특히 들불불씨가 제주시청 성화대에 안치되면
인기가수 허각이 출연하는 들불 희망 콘서트가 진행됩니다.

이어 다음달 5일까지 애월읍 봉성리 새별오름 일원에서
'들불의 희망,
세계로 번지다'를 주제로 들불축제 본행사가 펼쳐집니다.
