People on the island celebrated Independence Movement Day in a number of ways.

Things began early Wednesday, which was the 98th anniversary of the March First Independence Movement.

At 7:40, members of the Jocheon Junior Chamber went to Mansae Hill in Jocheon-eup for ancestral rituals for the victims of the movement.

Then at 10 a.m., members of the Korean Liberation Association joined the heads of local institutions at the Jocheon Gymnasium in Jeju City for a ceremony.

Following that, the supporters of the Jeju Peace Butterfly Concert met at one in the afternoon at the provincial office and marched to the Japanese consulate, in front of which they held a cultural event.

내일 98주년 3·1절 기념행사 '다채'

제98주년 3·1절을 맞아 제주에서도 다양한 기념행사가 열립니다.

제98주년 3·1절 기념식이 내일(1일) 오전 10시 광복회원과 도내 기관단체장들이 참석한 가운데 제주시 조천체육관에서 진행됩니다.

기념식에 앞서 제주시 조천청년회의소는 오전 7시 40분부터 조천읍 만세동산에서
희생자를 위한 제례를 시작으로 조천만세대행진을 펼칩니다.

또, 제주평화나비콘서트 서포터즈는 오후 1시 제주도청을 출발해 일본 영사관 앞에서 수요문화제를 개최합니다.
