111,000 Chinese tourists cancel Jeju trips
Seen as ‘revenge’ for Seoul’s decision to deploy THAAD anti-missile system


Over 100,000 Chinese have canceled their Jeju trips since Beijing began banning group tours to South Korea in response to Seoul’s decision to deploy the THAAD anti-missile system.


The provincial government pegs the running tally at nearly 111,000.


Travel agencies in China have canceled reservations with 21 local travel agencies.


The province is closely monitoring the situation and expects more cancelations.


If this current trend continues, analysts project the number of Chinese arrivals to plummet 70 percent.

중국의 한국 관광 금지 조처가 내려진 뒤 10만 명이 넘는 유커 즉 중국인 관광객이
제주관광 예약을 취소한 것으로 나타났습니다.


제주특별자치도가 제주관광 예약 취소 실태를 파악한 결과 현재까지 11만 1천여명에 이르고 있습니다.


이번 예약건은 중국 현지 모객 여행사가 도내 여행사에 통보한 내용으로 도내 여행사를 기준으로 봤을 때 21개소에 이르고 있습니다.


제주도는 예약 취소사례가 급증할 것으로 보고 실태를 예의주시하고 있으며
이같은 추세라면 지난해 제주를 찾은 중국인 관광객수의 70%가 감소할 것으로 예상하고 있습니다.
