Chinese firms won’t participate in upcoming EV expo
International Electric Vehicle Expo will be March 17-23 at ICC Jeju

The THAAD conflict is now not only affecting tourism, but also international events on the island.


The preparation committee for the International Electric Vehicle Expo says many Chinese businesses that had planned to participate have canceled those plans amid the THAAD row.


Organizers project that will lead to a smaller attendance at this year’s event. They had planned on about 100,000 visitors.


The fourth International Electric Vehicle Expo will be at the International Convention Center from March 17th to the 23rd.

사드 배치를 둘러싼 한중 갈등이 제주에서 개최되는 국제행사까지 영향을 미치고 있습니다.


국제전기자동차엑스포 조직위원회는 사드 배치에 대한 한중 갈등으로 제주 엑스포에 참가하려던 중국 업체들이 대거 불참 의사를 밝혔다고 전했습니다.


중국인 관광객도 찾지 않을 것으로 보이면서 관람객도 당초 예상한 10만 명 보다
줄어들 것으로 예상되고 있습니다.


한편 올해로 4회째를 맞는 국제전기차엑스포는 오는 17일부터 23일까지 제주국제컨벤션센터 일대에서 열립니다.
