25% less land sold this so far this year
Province cracking down on speculation

The province is issuing a rising number of construction permits, but land transactions are slowing.

The provincial office says people have sold 12,000 plots of land so far this year, covering some 10 million square meters.

Compared to the corresponding period last year, that’s two percent fewer plots, and 25 percent less area.

Local officials say there are two main reasons for the slowdown: stricter oversight of farmland and a crackdown on land speculation.

토지거래 면적 지난해 대비 25% 줄어

건축허가면적의 꾸준한 상승세 속에 토지거래는 줄고 있습니다.

제주특별자치도에 따르면 올들어 지난달까지 거래된 토지는 1만 2천여필지에 1천만여제곱미터로 조사됐습니다.

이는 지난해 같은 기간과 비교했을 때필지수는 2%, 면적으로는 25% 가 줄어든 것입니다.

제주도는 농지 관리 강화와 기획부동산 등에 대한 집중 단속으로 토지 거래가 감소하는 것으로 분석했습니다.
