Jeju City hiring more senior citizens this year
\8.5b being spent on jobs for 3,900 people

Jeju City will offer more jobs to the elderly this year.

The 31 specific jobs they will be hired to do include maintaining Clean House waste collection stations, cultural assets, and Jeju Olle trails.

The city is spending 8.5 billion won on the initiative to provide employment to about 39-hundred senior citizens. That’s 900 million won and 170 people more than last year.

Officials say they will keep working to identify jobs the elderly can do in order to meet the needs of the city’s aging population.

제주시 지역의 올해 노인 일자리 사업이 확대 추진됩니다.

제주시는 올해 사업비 85억원을 투입해 어르신 3천 900여명을 대상으로
클린하우스와 올레길 정비, 문화재지킴이 등 31개 사업의 노인일자리 사업을 전개합니다.

이는 지난해보다 참여자는 170여 명, 예산은 9억원 증가한 것입니다.

제주시는 앞으로 고령사회 진입에 대비해 다양한 노인일자리 시책을 발굴해 나갈 계획입니다.
