China-based cruise ship stops canceled
150 dockings called off so far

Cruise ships from China have canceled their scheduled stops here beginning Wednesday.

Costa Cruises has canceled all 50 or so stops it had planned between Thursday and the end of June. Other cruise lines canceled another roughly one hundred.

That means more than 20 percent of the projected 700 dockings in Jeju this year have been canceled. Analysts say more could be called off, depending on how the THAAD issue develops.

The cancelations include a number of dockings at the Gangjeong Cruise Terminal, so provincial officials are considering using only the Jeju Port Terminal this year.

15일 이후 중국발 크루즈 무더기 취소

오는 15일 이후 제주로 오기로 했던 중국발 크루즈 운항 스케줄이 무더기로 취소됐습니다.

제주특별자치도에 따르면 16일부터 6월까지 중국에서 제주로 50 여차례 들어올 예정이던 코스타 선사측 크루즈 운항이 모든 일정을 취소한 것을 비롯해 연말까지 선석 배정을 받았던 중국발 크루즈 150여 편이 잇따라 취소됐습니다.

이는 당초 제주도가 올해 예상한 크루즈 전체 운항횟수 7백여 편의 20%가 넘는 규모로 향후 사드 정국에 따라 더 늘어날 것으로 보입니다.

제주도는 강정 크루즈 터미널 기항 일정도 잇따라 취소되면서 올해는 제주항 터미널만 운영하는 방안을 검토 중입니다.
