Jeju Cherry Blossom Festival begins Friday
Events in Jangjeon-ri, along Jeonnong-ro, and at JNU

This spring’s premiere event on the island, the 26th Jeju Cherry Blossom Festival, begins Friday.

Everything begins in Jangjeon-ri, Aewol-eup, where there will be a lighting ceremony, concert, and other attractions.

Then on Saturday and Sunday, there will be a street culture festival along Jeonnong-ro in Jeju City.

The action will move to the Jeju National University entrance road on the following weekend, April 8th and 9th.

City officials are trying to differentiate each phase of the festival, so that visitors can see something local and unique at each of the three locations. To that end, authorities will crack down on illegal street vendors.

제주의 대표 봄 축제인 제26회 제주왕벚꽃축제가 오는 31일 개막합니다.

개막행사는 오는 31일 애월읍 장전리에서 왕벚꽃 점등식과 행복콘서트 등 다양한 프로그램으로 꾸며집니다.

이어 다음달 1일부터 이틀동안 제주시 전농로에서는 거리 전역을 축제공간화 한 문화거리축제로 진행됩니다.

이와함께 다음달 8일과 9일 이틀동안 제주대 입구에서도 왕벚꽃축제가 열립니다.

제주시는 불법노점상을 없애고 축제장별 지역특성을 살려 개최한다는 계획입니다.
