Remembering the victims of the Sewol ferry tragedy
Art, music in Tapdong April 14-16

A number of events will be held to commemorate the third anniversary of the Sewol ferry disaster, in which 304 people died, most of them high school students on a school trip to the island.

The Jeju April 16th Memorial Committee announced commemorative plans during a Monday press conference at the provincial office.

The memorial will be from April 14th to the 16th at Tapdong Beach Theater. An art exhibition in honor of the victims will include the work of painter Gang Yo-bae. Performing artists including Jeon In-gwon, Shin Daechul, and Kang San-ae will also be lending their musical talents to the efforts.

Organizers will also be raising funds to establish a physical memorial to the victims of the tragedy.

세월호 참사 희생자들을 추모하기 위한 활동을 본격화한다고 밝혔습니다.

이를 위해 다음 달 14일부터 사흘 동안 제주시 탑동 해변공연장 등에서 강요배 화백 등이 참여하는 미술 기획 전시와 기타리스트 전인권, 신대철, 강산에 등이 참여하는 추모 공연을 진행합니다.

이들은 또 세월호 참사 희생자들을 추모하기 위한 기억 공간 조성하기 모금 활동도 전개하기로 했습니다.
